Donations

The ORHCA has two primary sources of funding to maintain the cemetery grounds. One is from annual funds received from White Oak Township. This varies depending on the amount of tax revenues the township receives each year from Mahaska County. Money received from the township generally will cover the mowing and trimming costs paid to our outside contractor. The second source of primary funding is from donations which are used to cover items such as weed control, fence repair, signage and miscellaneous small expenditures. Occasionally, we received money in the past for the purchase of burial spaces. Because the cemetery was closed for the purchase of burial spaces for the past several years, little revenue was received from the very nominal fee charged. We recently voted to open a limited number of spaces available for sale in the old north section, but it remains to be seen if anyone will actually wish to buy them. Whenever possible labor to maintain the cemetery grounds other than the mowing and trimming is provided by volunteers. Volunteers have also provided their own tools and supplies to complete many of the projects. 100% of all donations go the cemetery maintenance fund. Anyone wishing to donate to the maintenance fund can do so by sending the donation to: ORHCA, c/o Tom Gaughan, 2289 Teller Ave, Rose Hill, IA 52586. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time to special projects can contact Don Stout, President ORHCA at the email address in the Board of Directors section of this website. Our next major project will be the repair/replacement of existing fences which is expected to commence in 2013. Thank you for considering a donation of money or service to the ORHCA.
